Once the parking situation was figured out, the boys were free to go to the playground, skip rocks at the lake or ride bikes and scooters. That night, we got a lot of rain which cooled everything off quite a bit. Friday morning it was very overcast and cool.
A homeless man at the park caused some excitement with volunteers and parents. "Crazy Tony" was apparently a talented BMX racer years ago that got messed up on drugs and now lives in the park.
The police were called to remove him but he quickly disappeared into the woods. He eluded capture all weekend and seemed to want everyone to just leave him alone.
The Engels and VonBergens from Lutz pulled in Friday morning and set up camp along side us. It was good for the boys to be able to hang out with friends during our road trip.

Friday evening, we got a visit from another Lutz friend, Jeff Carver who drove from Huntsville where he lives now. It was a very nice, relaxing evening with friends.

Saturday morning we were all up and ready to get racing. This was SamBob's first race as a 5yr old intermediate. He was upset not to be in the front of the pack. It is always hard going from winning all your races to being at the bottom and working your way back up again. None of the Cunningham boys made it through to main events on Saturday. It was upsetting but a big wake up call. Nationals were a whole different league compared to Florida SSA racing. The Engels and VonBergens all transferred through and did great in the main events. Way to go guys!
Sunday was pretty much a repeat as far as racing goes.
I was over it and ready to pack up and go.
