Stop #15: Las Vegas, Nevada

We rolled into Las Vegas excited to see the bright lights and get into racing mode since the National BMX race was quickly approaching. The boys had lost their opportunities to race Saturday and Sunday's events due to less than acceptable behavior during the previous week.

The RV park offered little shade for us and since the cost was comparable to the host hotel, we decided to stay at the South Pointe hotel and casino. It was so nice to have A/C and internet. The slot machines were bright and colorful and very inviting but we resisted the urge to waste our money there. Our friends Donna, Preston, Joe and Trinity flew in from Tampa for the race too and we got to hang out for a few days together which was nice.
The kids had a lot of fun with their buddies.a few things we did were go bowling, eating at Steak & Shake,  games in the arcade, movies, and walking on the Las Vegas Strip.

The casinos and hotels were very beautiful to look at but there were too many negative influences for the kids on the strip. Pornography was littering the streets and there was an abundance of street performers. some of them were entertaining and some we had to keep the kids from seeing. I really don't know why anyone would want to live there.

On Friday, the kids all had practice and then SamBob and Nathan
had a pre-race that night. It was
tough competition and they didn't make it out of their motos.

On Saturday,we watched Preston race. It was a tough day for him too and he didn't make it to the main event either.
We still had fun being spectators and watching all of the crashes. There were plenty of those to see!

After a long day of races, we headed West out of Sin City towards our next destination...
